Most courses and seminars will be held at Oceanside Yacht Club, Regatta Room (downstairs) at 7 pm, unless otherwise noted.

NOTE: Oceanside Yacht Club members may take classes at member rates however they may not take the test.

Intro to Navigation
Oceanside Yacht Club,
Regatta Room
6:30- 8:30 pm,  Tuesday

Class will be given as a WEBINAR and IN-PERSON.  This class is about using charts, fundamental piloting skills,common electronic navigation equipment and software, all with the objective to enhance basic boating knowledge and skills.

You do not have to show up in person – as the class will also be broadcast as a WEBINAR!

America’s Boating Course (ABC)
Oceanside Yacht Club, Regatta Room
7pm, Thursdays

MAXIMUM 12 STUDENTS

This course qualifies you for the CA Boaters License.

You’ll learn about boating laws and regulations as well as boat registration and licensing. Get in-depth knowledge of boating safety equipment, and learn how to become a safe boater by learning the dos and don’ts of boater safety.

Gain practical knowledge of navigation, rules of the road, handling emergencies and mechanical problems on the water, the basics of towing and trailering, important information for hunters, anglers and water sports enthusiasts, and so much more.

Learn about basic sailboat designs and nomenclature, rigging, and safety from experienced USPS sailors. Then tackle the physical aspects of sailing forces and techniques, sail applications, marlinespike, helmsmanship, and handling of difficult sailing conditions.
